Soprano Sue (Chunxia) Ma  

Sue Ma Sue Ma graduated from the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in Northern China. Her voice is characterized with elegance and an impressive breadth. She was the lead soprano in the Yellow River Art Center in Washington DC; and is currently the principal soprano soloist of Silicon Valley Ai -Yue Chorus (SVAY).

Ms. Ma has participated in various performing events since her arrival in the US, including the International Culture Exchange Events in Kent University, Ohio, the Chinese New Year Celebration performances sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Washington DC, and the Chinese Moon Festival and National Day celebration concerts in the SF Bay Area. She presented her first recital concert in San Jose in 2003. Ms. Ma is a sought-after soprano soloist in the Bay Area, and has gained considerable recognition and critical acclaim for her performances. To highlight, she was the lead soprano in SVAY’s annual concerts featuring Mozart’s Requiem, Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and Gabriel Faure’s Requiem, and in Asiatic Philharmonic Society’s inaugural concert “From Mozart to Mao, and Beyond,” which have all been very successful productions in the Bay Area.

Ms. Ma has been the Resident Musical Director for SVAY for many years. She is the chief designer and planner for most of the musical events in SVAY, click HERE for more.

Ms. Ma is also a software engineer in Santa Clara. She teaches voice and piano classes in her spare time.
